Russian universities meet the challenges of the time
How to strengthen the role of universities in the formation of state informational scientific, educational, and youth policy? This issue was discussed at a workshop in Moscow last weekend.

Representatives of 230 schools of higher education from 85 Russian regions took part in the workshop.
In the framework of the workshop, experts from the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, TASS, Yandex, Vkontakte and other large organizations, companies, and projects spoke. The professional dialogue was aimed at developing better solutions, searching for new, more effective ways of interaction between all parties interested in the final result. The event turned out to be productive and provided participants with guidelines for work, which has always been and remains focused on people.
The most significant event of the workshop was the meeting of participants with the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Mikhail M. Kotyukov. The workshop addressed essential current topics: improving the competitiveness of Russian education in the world market, the interaction of higher education institutions with regional leaders, scientific organizations and enterprises, the participation of universities in nationwide projects aimed at developing a system of means of social mobility, and much more. Regular meetings of this kind are planned for the future as well.
