The birthday of St Petersburg is celebrated on 27 May. This year the Northern capital turns 321. The city was founded on 27 May, 1703 by decree of Peter I, who personally supervised construction work and participated in the design of streets and squares.

Many famous buildings of the city on the Neva were created through the efforts of representatives of our university. Every historical era, saw outstanding engineers, scientists, and architects, whose names are closely associated with the university.

And today SPbGASU makes a great contribution to the development of St Petersburg. With the participation of graduates and teachers, the city government makes responsible urban planning decisions, carries out work to preserve and reconstruct the unique historical center and suburbs. Students work on coursework and diploma projects aimed at solving current urban problems.

St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering congratulates its beloved city on its birthday. Let it get better every year, and let its unique beauty please everyone’s heart!

On the eve of the celebration, the student team of SPbGASU “Easy Quizzee”, led by Anastasia Boykova, held a fascinating intellectual game (quiz) under the motto “Soulful Petersburg”. Four teams took part in the game, which included students from our and several other universities. The guys were able to not only test their knowledge of the history of the city on the Neva, but also have fun with friends. All participants in the game received prizes and memorable gifts with the symbols of SPbGASU.
