The St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering celebrates its 192nd birthday. The university was founded on 27 April (9 May, according to the current style) 1832 by decree of Emperor Nicholas I as the School of Civil Engineers under the Main Directorate of Communications and Public Buildings.
Over the years, the university has come a long way, filled with bright events and achievements. Many public and residential buildings and structures in St Petersburg, in Russia and abroad were erected thanks to the work and talent of university graduates.
Today SPbGASU is an ecosystem with ample opportunities for professional and personal growth. It is the only one in the Northwestern Federal District of Russia that provides comprehensive training for specialists in the field of construction, architecture, transport and engineering and environmental systems.
Thanks to close interaction with industry partners, SPbGASU graduates receive up-to-date knowledge and are in demand in the labor market. Employees of partner companies participate in the development of educational programs and practical training of students, propose topics for final qualification works and course projects, participate in state final certification and scientific developments.
The university implements innovative projects, thanks to which it has been awarded the status of a federal innovation platform. The first of them is “Modern educational technologies to ensure occupational safety in the construction industry”. Another project is “Innovative methodology for developing digital professional competencies of students and specialists in the construction industry”.
Innovative projects, practical orientation, enthusiasm of students, teachers and staff allow the university to successfully perform its mission and participate in the implementation of the national idea of creating a comfortable and safe living environment.
