Award ceremony with special diplomas at the "Art of building" festival
SPbGASU succeeded in the XXXII International Review-Competition of the best final qualifying works in architecture, design and art.
The competition is held annually by the Interregional Public Organization for the Promotion of Architectural Education (MOOSAO). This year more than 50 universities took part in it. The competition took place in a hybrid format from September to November. The final stage took place in Moscow and was held along with the XXXI International Festival “Art of Building”, becoming one of its independent venues.
First degree diplomas of this prestigious competition for graduates of architectural faculties in Russia and abroad were won by 41 works from SPbGASU.
Three works received second degree diplomas.
The projects of our graduates were also awarded with diplomas from the Moscow Architectural Institute (State Academy) (six diplomas), the Union of Restorers of Russia (four diplomas), the National Committee of the International Council for the Conservation of Monuments and Sites (NC ICOMOS, three diplomas), the Union of Architects of Russia (two diplomas ), the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences (one diploma), the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan (one diploma), the Union of Moscow Architects (one diploma), the Sverdlovsk branch of the Union of Architects of Russia (one diploma), the Primorsky Regional Branch of the Union of Architects of Russia (one diploma). In addition, one of the projects was awarded the Lazar Khidekel Prize.

13 teachers from our university acted as experts in the competition. Associate Professor at the Department of Architectural and Urban Planning Heritage Nadezhda Akulova became the chairman of the competition commission in the direction of “Restoration and Reconstruction of Architectural Heritage.” Associate Professor at the Department of Architectural Design Fedor Perov headed the direction “Public buildings. Multifunctional complexes."
Nadezhda Akulova was one of the organizers of the face-to-face part of the competition. Together with Professor Sergey Sementsov, the teacher participated in a meeting of the Federal educational and methodological association in the higher education system for enlarged groups of specialties and fields of study in the direction of “Restoration and reconstruction of architectural heritage.”
As part of the event, an International competition of scientific and educational literature on architecture, design and art was held, at which, in the category “Monograph (architecture)”, the first degree diploma was awarded to the work of the dean of the SPbGASU Faculty of Architecture Ekaterina Vozniak, “Architectural details of the facades of St Petersburg. 18th century." In the category “Textbook (architecture)”, a second degree diploma was awarded to the work of Associate Professor at the Department of Architectural Design Vladlen Lyavdansky “Introduction to Professional Activities. Foreign experience of architectural practice" and "Introduction to professional activities. Procedures for purchasing the services of architects. International experience". The first degree diploma in the same category was awarded to the work “Modeling in ArchiCAD. Part 1” by Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics Konstantin Shumilov and Associate Professor at the Department of Descriptive Geometry and Engineering Graphics Yuliana Guryeva. In the nomination “Textbook (design of the architectural environment)”, the second degree diploma was awarded to the manual “Working Interior Design” by associate professors at the Department of Architectural Environment Design Denis Romanov and Ksenia Yakovleva.
According to the head of the Department of Architectural Environment Design, Maria Granstrem, the competition confirmed the high competitiveness of SPbGASU among architectural universities in the post-Soviet space. “There were a lot of strong works, so it’s especially nice to receive high awards,” she noted.
