Students of Vyatka State University completing a competition task
On 11–23 September, the Vyatka State University (Kirov), hosted the qualifying stage of the All-Russian TIM-Championship of St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering in building information modeling.
The championship was organized as part of the innovative educational project “Innovative methods of developing digital professional competencies of students and specialists in the construction industry,” implemented at the St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering.
The championship was attended by 11 student teams that developed digital information models of built-in and attached banking premises in a residential building according to the instructions developed by the methodological commission of the SPbGASU TIM-Championship.
While completing the competition task, students created an architectural model of the building, carried out structural calculations, designed water supply, sewerage, heating and ventilation networks, and performed cost estimates. TIM coordinators were responsible for linking the sections.

Graduate students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Faculty of Architecture presented their projects to the jury, which, together with teachers from Vyatka SU and SPbGASU, included representatives of leading construction organizations of the Kirov region.
The qualifying stage of the All-Russian TIM-Championship of SPbGASU at Vyatka SU was supervised by Kirill Sukhanov, associate professor at the SPbGASU Department of Heat, Gas Supply and Ventilation.
“I would like to express my gratitude to Vyatka State University for hosting the qualifying stage of the SPbGASU TIM-Championship. The competition was organized at a high level. The teams performed well. Based on the results of the defense, it is worth noting that the guys managed to complete all sections of the technical assignment. We will wait for the team that won the selection at the All-Russian stage of the Championship,” noted Kirill Sukhanov.
The winning students of the qualifying stage of the All-Russian TIM-Championship of SPbGASU will take part in the final, inter-university stage of the competition, which will be held in St Petersburg, at the St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering from 23 October to 20 November, 2023.
