St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering and Tashkent State Transport University (TSTU) of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a memorandum of understanding for a period of five years. The document provides for the establishment and development of academic cooperation and exchanges in areas that will be mutually beneficial to universities.

Tashkent State Transport University is a basic higher educational institution for the training, retraining and advanced training of specialists and scientific personnel with higher education for the transport industry. The university is gradually introducing a credit-modular system of education in accordance with advanced international educational standards and curricula.

The signing of the memorandum was attended by the SPbGASU Vice-Rector for Youth Policy Irina Lugovskaia, Dean of the Faculty of Automobile and Road Building Andrey Zazykin and Head of the International Relations Division Svetlana Petrova. As part of the TSTU delegation, our university was visited by Vice-Rector for Academic Work Abdulaziz Gulamov, Dean of the Faculty of Aviation Transport Engineering Dilmurod Rikhsiev, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Aviation Transport Engineering Izzat Maturazov, Head of the Department of Radioelectronic Devices and Systems Natalya Yaronova.

“We are interested in cooperation with foreign universities, we are members of eight international associations. We have fifteen years of experience in joint implementation of educational programs with foreign universities. Currently, we are developing two projects with the People's Republic of China (Henan Urban University), which involve the implementation of bachelor's educational programs "Water supply and sanitation" and "Energy supply of buildings". In addition, we carry out academic exchange of students with foreign partner universities. We hope for an equally fruitful cooperation with the Tashkent State Transport University,” said Irina Lugovskaia.

Under the memorandum, the exchange of faculty and students will be developed, summer and winter international schools will be held, and network educational programs will be developed. The parties intend to develop cooperation in research initiatives and other projects of mutual interest.

“We are expanding cooperation with Russian universities and will make every effort to develop a number of areas with an educational institution of such a level as SPbGASU. We are confident that cooperation will be fruitful,” said Abdulaziz Gulamov.
