On 29–30 March, the Nizhny Novgorod State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering hosted the All-Russian Forum of Student Construction Squads “BIG reConstruction”.

The event brought together more than 300 construction squads' members from more than 50 regions of Russia and employment partners to prepare for summer work projects. The forum also became a platform for planning the construction direction of Russian student squads in 2024.

“Russian student squads have entered an active phase of preparation for the summer working season in 2024. Everyone who wants to work as part of a student squad undergoes professional training. But working in a student squad is not only an opportunity to earn money, but also the development of one’s personal qualities, professional growth, obtaining “soft” skills - everything that is valued in the modern labor market. Therefore, during the year it was a preparatory period for the squads, when all interested students underwent vocational training, management and psychological training, and master classes. We take a comprehensive approach to training future young personnel so that when entering the labor market, students feel more confident and can immerse themselves in the profession, avoiding unnecessary stress,” commented Mikhail Kiselyov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy, Chairman of the Board of Russian Student squads.

SPbGASU was represented at the forum by a student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Eliza Iskuzhina, a member the Polza SCS. “The meeting was very productive: intensive training in the construction field was carried out over two days. In addition, the organizers gave us a very interesting quest tour around the evening Nizhny Novgorod,” noted Eliza.

The event was attended by the heads of regional headquarters, participants of the XII All-Russian school for training command staff of the headquarters of All-Russian labor projects and commanders of construction squads. The project is being implemented with the support of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh).
