On 21–24 November, the Ufa State Petroleum Technical University hosted the All-Russian Student Olympiad in Theoretical Mechanics. This year, for the first time, the Olympiad was held in a combined format: offline and remotely. More than 115 students in 33 teams from Russia and Turkmenistan took part in it.
Participants were offered eight tasks on the main sections of theoretical mechanics, in which students demonstrated high skills in solving complex and non-standard problems. The results were assessed in individual and team competitions. In addition, a computer competition was held for interested teams.
The SPbGASU team included second-year students of the specialty “Construction of Unique Buildings and Structures” Vladislav Laptev, Artem Grigoriev, Anastasia Zimovets and Aleksandra Leonova, who took part in the full-time round of the Olympiad. The guys performed with dignity, receiving diplomas in the individual competition, as well as a fifth-degree diploma in the team competition, and took first place among all architectural and civil engineering universities.
