SPbGASU is taking part in the educational and tourism program “University Session”. The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, the Ministry of Education of Russia, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs and the All-Russian Movement of Children and Youth “Movement of the First” on behalf of President Vladimir Putin.

As part of the ten-day program, schoolchildren from the city of Genichesk, Kherson region, came to the university. The guys are from 14 to 17 years old, and they are interested in choosing a future profession, so the “University Session” necessarily includes career guidance. Vice-Rector for Youth Policy Irina Lugovskaia drew the attention of the SPbGASU guests to this. She emphasized that the university is the oldest technical educational institution in Russia for training personnel for the construction industry and architecture and unique in the North-West region, which provides integrated training of specialists in the field of construction, architecture, and transport. During the “University Session” the students will learn in detail about what competencies university students receive.In the SPbGASU History Museum

“All events of the educational and tourism program are divided into thematic blocks. As part of the career guidance thematic block, we organized a series of events “Start into the Profession”. The guys will take part in master classes in the laboratory and model workshop, and visit faculties. The events of the second thematic block are no less meaningful: these are meetings with interesting and successful people, participation in acts of kindness under the auspices of the Russian movement of children and youth “Movement of the First”. The third thematic block has a cultural and educational focus, so the program includes many events that will take place in our "Kirpich" Student Creativity Club, which nurtures and promotes talents up to the international level. Excursions around the city and to museums are also planned. We tried to make the children’s stay in our university and city meaningful, interesting and useful,” emphasized Irina Lugovskaia.

• The children are impressed from the first day. They say they liked St Petersburg a lot.

“First the city greeted us with rain, and then with a rainbow reflected in the Fontanka! That's very beautiful! I was impressed by the university, which amazingly combines history and modernity. My dad works in the construction industry, so I’ve known since childhood that construction is cool! It is quite possible that, after graduating from school, I will return to this particular university to get a good specialized education,” schoolgirl Yulia Pankratova shared her impressions.

At the opening of the “University Session” the children were presented with gifts; on the same day they visited the SPbGASU museums.
