The cultural and business mission of St Petersburg to India visited Delhi and Mumbai (Bombay) on 24–30 September. The delegation was headed by the Vice-Governor of the Northern Capital, Vladimir Knyaginin, and included the heads of the Committees for External Relations, Industrial Policy Development, Innovation and Trade and Tourism Development of the St Petersburg Government, as well as representatives of 13 St Petersburg companies and seven leading universities of the city, including SPbGASU. Our university was represented by the first vice-rector Svetlana Golovina and the vice-rector for academic affairs Sergey Mikhailov.
As part of the mission, guests from St Petersburg universities met with their Indian colleagues to discuss with them issues of academic mobility, joint scientific and project activities. They visited the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, University of Mumbai, University of Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru University.
On 29–30 September, the exhibition-fair “Russian Education 2023” was held in Delhi, organized by the Russian House in Delhi (representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo) and the RusEducation company. The St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering was also represented there with its own stand. Elizaveta Ladina, the specialist of the SPbGASU International Relations Division, and Larisa Grambovskaya, the specialist of the Admissions Committee, spoke about the opportunities that our university provides to foreign students.
As part of the exhibition, a round table was held at which representatives of Indian and Russian universities discussed academic partnerships, student exchange programs and cultural integration. Participants expressed hope that the exhibition will strengthen friendship and expand educational ties between Russia and India.
