On 6 December, the 117th International Scientific and Technical Conference “Technical Regulation in the Field of Motor Vehicles” was held at the NAMI Test Center (Dmitrov Automotive Test Site) in the Moscow region. It was visited by the Dean of the SPbGASU Faculty of Automobile and Road Building Andrey Zazykin and the Head of the Department of Transport Maintenance Igor Chernyaev.
Conferences, regularly held by the Association of Automotive Engineers (AAE) at the end of the year, are devoted to current trends related to the development of the automotive industry, the production of automotive components and vehicles, standardization and procedures for confirming compliance with established requirements.
“Participation in the conference allowed us to confirm the correctness of the chosen directions for the development of the Faculty, included in the strategic plan,” says Andrey Zazykin. Thus, a large number of reports were devoted to robotic systems and highly automated vehicles, for which it is important not only to form a legal framework, but also to train specialists. For this purpose, the Faculty opened and has been developing the robotics laboratory. The situation is similar with computer design and computational engineering: this area is especially relevant in recent times, and this corresponds to the development of design fields of study at the Faculty, within which the list of specialized software used is expanded and the production base is developed. So, this week the machine park of the interdepartmental laboratory of the SPbGASU training site "Krasnoye Selo" was replenished with new machines - a pipe bending machine and a unique wide-format CNC milling machine.
Representatives of our university made a presentation at the conference “Issues of rational improvement of the system of requirements for the technical condition of vehicles in operation.” The organizers noted that for the first time this area aroused such interest among participants, which indicates the relevance of the lied issues that need to be addressed. This includes the correct application of safety requirements, the disclosure of service information, and the regulation of the market for repair and restoration technologies. On all of these issues, the university is already interacting with partners - associations of employers, including the Union of Participants in the Automotive Service Industry and the Union "Avtoprom North-West".
An important result of participation in the conference was the agreement reached with the leadership of the AAE to hold the next conference in 2024 on the site of SPbGASU. This will contribute to the development of the Faculty of Automobile and Road Building as a center for training personnel for the motor transport industry.
