On 31 August, on the eve of the Day of Knowledge, SPbGASU held events for freshmen. Newly made students received sacred student cards.
Sergey Bobylev entered the Faculty of Architecture. The freshman plans to study with interest and actively engage in extracurricular activities.
Bayel Arzikulov came to study from Kyrgyzstan. “It was difficult to enter, but I did it!” he said. Bayel plans not only to develop professionally, but also to participate in the work of the student council.

Deans and deputy deans addressed the first-year students at faculty meetings. The guys were introduced to the administration of the university, its structure, the location of the buildings. Head of the Security Division Oleg Pospelov informed about the rules of conduct at the university.
First-year students learned about student scientific societies, the annual student scientific and practical conference, the SPbGASU council of young scientists and about who can apply for an increased state academic scholarship. Students were also informed about the student design center of the Faculty of Architecture - a unique platform for developing engineering skills and their own creative ideas, designed to become a source of inspiration and opportunities.
At the Student Union Fair
In the lobby of the main building, the student council held a fair of student projects and university communities.
Alena Kosenkova, a student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the head of the audio unit of the SPbGASU media center, admitted that before entering the university she had no idea what a DJ console was. Creativity opened up new possibilities for her. It does not interfere with studies: Alena's grades are As and Bs.
Egor Ryabchikov, the coach of the Lisa sports club, told the first-year students about the various clubs working at the university - athletics, kickboxing, boxing, basketball, mini-football, calisthenics and many others. “We are waiting to all students who want be engaged in physical education,” said Oksana Safonova, director of the sports club.
Elena Abashina, a student of the Faculty of Automobile and Road Building, heads the committee on the quality of education in the student council. According to Elena, the committee's activities are aimed at building a chain "student - university administration". Any student can contact the committee in case of any difficulties.
Anastasia Boikova, a student of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Municipal Services, presented the Easy Quizzee association. “About once a month we hold games for 60-70 people. It is interesting not only to compete, but also to get to know each other, ”said Anastasia. The visitors of the fair had the opportunity to test their strength by pulling out a ticket with a question. The one who answered correctly got a prize.
Anastasia Gromova, a student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, presented the EcoTus project. Its participants have recently joined the environmental charity project "Kindness Caps" to help nature and children. In addition, the guys collect waste paper, help an animal shelter.
Valeria Shirobokova, a student of the Faculty of Architecture, invited freshmen to the Cassette project. The project combines several directions: film screenings and discussions of films are held every Friday in the cinema club, Kvartirnik introduces students to the art of music. The informal atmosphere of the literary club encourages reading. PowerPoint Party participants make presentations on various topics.
Sofia Myagkaya, a student of the Faculty of Economics and Management, spoke about the project “Ball at SPbGASU. Forward to the past”: “We hold balls in beautiful places in St Petersburg. Preparation takes approximately two months. We have a dress code, each time it changes according to the theme of the evening. Once a week we rehearse with choreographers”.
- The SPbGASU Media Center organized a photo session for first-year students. All day freshmen were accompanied by adapters - students who are ready to share their experience and help beginners. They will do this over the next two months.
