Getting to know the client area and the functionality of the departments

On 3 December, an off-site training session was held for students in the bachelor's degree program "Operation of transport and technological machines and complexes" (profile "Automobiles and automobile economy") at the oldest official Volkswagen service center in St Petersburg - "Neva-Avtokom".

The training was conducted by a 2003 graduate of the SPbGASU Faculty of Automobile and Road Building, head of the service, Dmitry Solovov.

The lesson was devoted to studying the organizational and management structure of a modern car service, distribution of functional responsibilities, organization of interaction between various departments. In the technical information block, students became familiar with the equipment of the repair zone, the technologies implemented, and the features of developing planning solutions. An important part was information on the average parameters used in designing and analyzing the work of the service, which will help in completing a course project on the relevant discipline and in preparing a final qualifying work.

It should be noted that Neva-Avtokom is a long-standing partner of SPbGASU. Thus, in the early 2010s, the Department of Transport Maintenance consulted the service in the process of organizing a technical inspection line. Currently, on an initiative basis, the Department has carried out test checks of the characteristics of some components used in technical maintenance. This area has been developed as a topic for one of the final qualifying works. The company itself is a regular participant in career guidance events: Neva-Avtokom specialists annually hold open lectures for pre-graduation students, regularly provide students with places for internships, and attend diploma ceremonies, offering employment options for graduates.

"Development of cooperation with educational organizations is becoming especially relevant now, when there is a shortage of personnel in the field of technical maintenance and repair of motor vehicles," noted Dmitry Solovov. "We, for our part, are ready to share our expertise in this area, because in addition to strong theoretical knowledge, employers expect practical competencies from graduates." It is planned to consolidate cooperation in the form of concluding a corresponding agreement.
