On 6 April, by the unanimous decision of the Council for Professional Qualifications in the Automotive Industry (Minutes No. 60), which is part of the National Council for Professional Qualifications under the President of the Russian Federation, SPbGASU received the status of an examination center at the Center for the Assessment of Qualifications of the Automotive Industry North-West Union to conduct an independent grades for the following qualifications:

• automechatronics for the repair of motor vehicles (MV) (5th level of qualification);
• foreman in acceptance of automatic telephone exchange for maintenance, repair and delivery to the consumer (5th level of qualification);
• foreman of the repair area for maintenance, repair of MV and their components (6th level of qualification).

Theoretical part (test)

An independent qualification assessment (IQA) is a procedure for confirming that an applicant's qualifications comply with the provisions of a professional standard or other qualification requirements.

Obtaining the status of an examination center allows our students to undergo an independent qualification assessment within the walls of SPbGASU, including combining the IQA with the state final certification, as well as to ensure the quality of the education received, to expand employment opportunities. For the university, this is an opportunity to increase its competitiveness in the market of educational services and the practical orientation of educational programs.

In 2022, SPbGASU, together with the COC of the North-West Automotive Industry Union, took part in a pilot project to combine the state final certification and independent qualification assessment (GIA-IQA). The project is implemented by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science and the National Agency for the Development of Qualifications with the support of Rosobrnadzor and nine councils for professional qualifications.

Graduates of the last year in the fields of study 15.03. Applied Mechanics, 23.03.03 Operation of transport and technological machines and complexes and specialty 23.05.01 Land transport and technological means successfully passed the IQA procedure for the 6th level of qualification - 31.00400.04 foreman of the repair area for maintenance, repair of MV and their components (professional standard 31.004 Specialist in mechatronic vehicle systems).

The university plans to continue work on expanding the IQA not only to combine with the state final certification, but also with intermediate certification, as well as to increase the number of examination centers.
