On 25–27 May, the Far Eastern State Transport University (FESTU) in Khabarovsk hosted the II Far East BIM (TIM) Forum. The issues of using technologies of information modeling at capital construction projects in the Far East, the tasks of staffing the digitalization of construction and transport, the difficulties of switching to domestic software were discussed.

The forum was attended by IT companies, consumers of their services, organizations of higher and secondary vocational education.

SPbGASU was represented at the forum by Anna Mikhailova, Head of the Division for Curriculum Development and Academic Work, Inna Sukhanova, Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Municipal Services, Denis Nizhegorodtsev, Director of the Laboratory of Digital Building Information Models, Viktoria Vinogradova, Director of the Institute of Continuing Education, and Nikita Gorovoy, Assistant at the Department of Computer Science.

On the first day of the forum, Denis Nizhegorodtsev made a presentation “Innovative Methods for Forming Digital Professional Competencies of Students”. On the second day, the SPbGASU representatives took part in the round table "BIM education" and shared their unique experience in training TIM personnel. Of particular interest to the participants of the round table was the experience of conducting complex defenses of graduation TIM projects, as well as the methodology for conducting the BIM (TIM) championship and the possibility of holding the SPbGASU qualifying stage of the BIM (TIM) championship at the sites of other educational organizations.

As a result of the forum, an extensive resolution was adopted, which included:

• decision on mutually beneficial cooperation in personnel training between SPbGASU and FESTU;
• recommendations for universities of the Far Eastern Federal District to take part in the All-Russian BIM (TIM) championship held by SPbGASU.
