As part of the LXXVII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Architecture – Construction – Transport – Economics”, a round table “Current issues of transport provision in the Leningrad Region” was held at the Leningrad Region Committee on Transport. It was attended by representatives of executive authorities, science and business.
SPbGASU was among the organizers and participants of the event. Director of the SPbGASU Institute of Traffic Safety, Professor at the Department of Land Transport and Technological Machines Sergey Evtyukov, Head of the Department of Transport Systems Stanislav Evtyukov, Associate Professor at the Department of Land Transport and Technological Machines Nikolai Podoprigora and PhD student of the Department of Transport Systems Elena Sorokina shared valuable ideas on solving pressing issues of transport support in the region.
The focus of the round table participants was the renewal of rolling stock, road safety, the development of alternative modes of transport, the introduction of the “Talking City” system on public transport in the Leningrad region, the development of interaction between the scientific community and the transport complex.
Elena Sorokina reported on the results of her research aimed at ensuring comprehensive safety of passenger transportation along the route network of the Leningrad region.
Stanislav Evtyukov offered creating a transport concept for the “Road of Life”, which could include all the necessary transport infrastructure with the possibility of separating all types of vehicles, including a historical and tourist bicycle route along the “Road of Life”.
The round table determined further interaction between the Committee and the university in a number of areas (scientific and technical, expert, elaboration of topics for dissertations, thesis and a number of other issues). In the near future it is planned to sign an agreement between the committee and SPbGASU.
