Andrey Zazykin
On June 15, within the framework of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, a round table "New challenges of the automotive industry in science, education and sports" was held. Andrey Zazykin, Dean of the SPbGASU Faculty of Automobile and Road Building, took part in the round table.
The event was organized by the Committee for Industrial Policy, Innovation and Trade of St Petersburg and the industrial cluster Avtoprom North-West. Participants – heads of specialized companies and educational organizations – focused on the growth points of scientific and technological policy, personnel development of the industry and other topical issues.
The participants of the round table discussed the current agenda of the Russian automotive industry and ways to solve the challenges facing the industry. According to analytical estimates, the production of cars and wheeled vehicles this year will be halved compared to 2021. It is expected that in 2022 the Russian industry will produce about 800 thousand units of automotive vehicles, while in 2021, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia the volume of car production exceeded 1.5 million units.
✔ In the context of economic sanctions, industry enterprises face acute problems of maintaining production and product quality, saving labour collectives and increasing import substitution. At the same time, in the current economic conditions, the issues of staff development and training of young professionals for automotive enterprises, the transport industry as a whole, which were relevant in previous years, are of particular importance.
Andrey Zazykin spoke about the training of such specialists at the SPbGASU department of automotive and road building, about the assessment of their demand from the state and business, as well as about the participation of the university in a pilot project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia and the National Agency for the Development of Qualifications to test the combination of the state final and intermediate certification with an independent assessment of qualifications (GIA-NOK).
The aim of the project is to determine the compliance of graduate training level with the requirements of employers, to promote the development of mechanisms for professional and public accreditation, and to expand interaction between universities and the industry.
Since 2022, SPbGASU has been participating in this project with three educational programs: 23.03.03 "Operation of transport and technological machines and complexes", profile "Automobiles and automobile economy"; 23.05.01 "Land transport and technological means", specialization "Lifting and transportation, construction, road vehicles and equipment"; and 15.03.03 "Applied Mechanics", profile "Computational Mechanics and Computer Engineering".
The SPbGASU partner in the project is the industrial cluster Avtoprom North-West. The parties combine the state final certification and an independent assessment of the qualifications of graduates to confirm the level of qualification 31.00400.04 "Foreman of the repair area for maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and their components" (6th level of qualification) within the framework of professional standard 31.004 "Specialist in mechatronic vehicle systems.
The procedure involves passing a professional exam, consisting of theoretical and practical parts, in the center for assessing qualifications of the industrial cluster "Automotive Industry North-West". For this, an examination complex was created at the SPbGASU training site in Krasnoye Selo.
