The parties exchanged information on the scientific and educational activities of their universities. Mr. J. Watanabe spoke about the geography of Hokkaido Island and the relationship between Hokkaido and St. Petersburg, which began at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum; he emphasized that there were a lot of similarities between the two regions. “I think we need to start with an acquaintanceship,” said Mr. J. Watanabe.

Despite the enormous distances between our countries and cities, we have feasible opportunities for interaction. We are currently conducting informational work among students about the summer schools at Hokkaido University. We invite your students to summer schools at SPbGASU. We are interested in organizing internships for teachers. We invite Professor H. Habuka to SPbGASU to participate in the international conference on reconstruction and restoration in March 2020.
