SPbGASU graduate took part in ‘Vostok’ Youth Educational Forum
From 12 to 17 July 2021, the All-Russian Educational Youth Forum "Vostok” (“East”), hosted by the Far Eastern Federal University, took place in Vladivostok. The main goal of the forum is to attract young professionals to solve real business tasks offered by the largest employers and business representatives of the Primorsky Krai.

The event was attended by Anastasia Sementsova, this year’s graduate of the SPbGASU Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Municipal Services.
The face-to-face part of the event was preceded by an online stage, during which the participants got acquainted with the cases proposed by partner companies (including the Roscosmos State Corporation, Sberbank, Russian Railways, Nevada Group and RusHydro Energy Holding), split into teams and started working on the projects.
Anastasia's team opted for the RusHydro case: it was necessary to formulate young people’s contemporary requirements for living and building a career in the Far East, as well as to develop solutions to ensure the quality of life in the regions of the company's presence.
The problem was considered using the example of the town of Zeya in the Amur Oblast, where the Zeyskaya hydroelectric power plant, the largest power station in the Far East, is located.
✔ Based on the selection results for the preliminary online defense, the best participants received invitations to the face-to-face stage in Vladivostok, where they continued working on their projects.
“In our work, we used a SWOT analysis (a method for identifying internal strengths and weaknesses, as well as external opportunities and threats) and examined the target audience. The solutions proposed by the team covered three sectors: infrastructure, social activities, and organizational optimization,” Anastasia told.
An intense business agenda along with a rich entertainment programme was prepared for the forum participants.
“The Forum has become an important stage in my professional development. It is especially valuable that a lot of people with the related educational background gathered here, and most of them already have work experience in partner companies,” said Anastasia Sementsova.
In total, 300 young citizens from 51 regions of Russia received the opportunity to come to Vladivostok. Among them are entrepreneurs, urbanists, marketers, engineers, media representatives and university students.
