SPbGASU Graduates are Noted at the All-Russian FQWs Review-Competition

Nadezhda Ivanova

On May 16–20, the Kazan State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering hosted the third final round of the All-Russian competition of final qualifying works of bachelors in the program 08.03.01 "Construction" (training profile "Roads and airfields"), masters in the program 08.04.01 "Construction (training profile "Motor roads and airfields") and graduates in the program 08.05.02 "Construction, operation, restoration and technical cover of roads, bridges and tunnels" (specialization "Construction (reconstruction), operation and technical cover of roads"). On the results of the second (regional) round, SPbGASU sent eight works to the competition.

A graduate of the Department of roads, bridges and tunnels Nadezhda Ivanova (supervised by senior lecturer of the department Anna Simonova) won first place in the nomination "Production base of road facilities", and graduate Elena Racheeva (supervised by associate professor of the department Vasily Radov) became the first in the nomination "Repair and maintenance of highways". Graduate Ekaterina Ovchinnikova (supervised by Anna Simonova) was awarded the second place in the nomination "Road Activity Management". First-year master's student Igor Yaryshkin (supervised by associate professor of the department of RB&T Aleksandr Simanovsky) took third place in the nomination "Research topics", and first-year master's student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Ivan Modin (supervised by Maksim Ovchinnikov, PhD in technical sciences) took third place in the nomination "Design of transport structures on highways".

According to Maria Klekovkina, head of the department of roads, bridges and tunnels, the works of our students were performed at a high level. The jury, which included university teachers, paid special attention to testing the results of the FQWs at conferences, competitions and exhibitions, the availability of publications on the FQWs subject, and the implementation of research results in industrial and scientific practice. Received patents, monographs, textbooks, articles in Skopus and in publications of the Higher Attestation Committee were evaluated to the maximum, including those in co-authorship with a supervisor or with a research team.{gallery name="вкр5"}

In her work on the topic “Production of cement-concrete slabs of capital type coatings at the reinforced concrete plant”, Nadezhda Ivanova selected a new composition of the concrete mixture, produced modern methods for calculating the economics of production, and determined the range of manufactured products for their subsequent calculation. “The chosen topic was already familiar to me in connection with my work. I wanted to talk about the production of slabs for covering capital roads. Laying a paving from this material takes a little time, because the technology is very simple and does not require special conditions for work, such as laying an asphalt concrete mixture. In addition, these plates have a long service life, they are durable, resistant to temperature extremes and high humidity, they can be installed temporarily, then removed and used elsewhere,” the graduate said.

Nadezhda plans to develop concrete mix compositions with improved characteristics and lower production costs.
