SPbGASU graduates became laureates of the All-Russian competition

Graduates of 2019 of St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering took part in the 4th All-Russian Festival “Drivers of Modern City Development”, within the framework of which a creative contest of future architects and designers took place on June 20-28, 2019. Projects of the last three years were admitted to the competition.

The organizers of the competition were the Information and Analytical Center for the Complex of Urban Planning and Construction of the City of Moscow Mosstroyinform (GBU Mosstroyinform) with the support of the Government of the Moscow City represented by the Department of Urban Development.

This year, graduates of the SPbGASU Faculty of Architecture were incredibly active and participated in the nomination of the contest “Urban Development, Planning and Zoning”. Their works were awarded two prizes and diplomas.

  • Anastasia Ladigan, who presented the project “Identity in the design of the architectural environment of public spaces in the City of Vyborg” (supervisor associate professor of the SPbGASU Department of Architectural Environment Design Svetlana Danilova). The work was commissioned by the Administration of City of Vyborg and received good reviews.
  • Anna Okopnyaya was awarded for the project “Special features of documenting territorial development planning projects in small cities” (supervisor professor of the Department of urban Planning, Doctor of Architecture Sergey Mityagin). Anna's research, focused on optimizing the preparation of documentation for urban planning projects, was awarded a bronze diploma from St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering.

Works of quite a few other SPbGASU graduates were also awarded diplomas.

The work of Anna Belyaeva, Master’s degree holder from the Department of Architectural Environment Design, the architectural environment design department, was dedicated to integrated development of the architectural environment of small cities in the Leningrad Region; it was recommended for the development by the Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of the Leningrad Region. The study was conducted on the example of the Sovietsy settlement. Its main goal is to create an urban development plan, the phased implementation of which would allow turning a small city into a place of comfortable living for residents and guests of the settlement.

Violetta Gundlach is the best graduate of the Department of Town Planning: she graduated with honors and received the sign of the Golden Diploma of SPbGASU.

Victoria Museyeva is also a Master’s degree holder. A graduate of the Town Planning Department, she completed her studies with honors, while her diploma project was carried out by order of the Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of the Leningrad Region for the City of Ivangorod. The project will be submitted for review and further development in Ivangorod.

One more award recipient from SPbGASU, Mikhail Ulyanov, worked on a very important topic for St. Petersburg: in his graduation work he considered the theme of the transformation of the former industrial areas of the city at the example of the Red Triangle Plant.

These awards confirm the high level of town planning training at the faculty of architecture of SPbGASU.
