SPbGASU has taken part in the National Exhibition «VUZPROMEXPO-2020»
The 7th Annual National Exhibition “VUZPROMEXPO”, held in Moscow on December 10-11, was called to promote effective communications between the scientific and academic community, the state and business structures. Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering became a participant of one of the country’s leading scientific exhibitions.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The main theme of the business programme was implementation of the national project "Science and Universities".
The purpose of the exhibition is to demonstrate the interaction of Russian universities and research institutes with enterprises of the real sector of the economy, business and industrial partners.
The ideas born within the walls of universities and on entrepreneurial platforms should be continued in production, become part of the industry and world-class products”, said Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia, speaking at the forum.
✔Participants of the exhibition focused on such topics as the popularization of science among young people, career prospects for young scientists, and challenges that universities have to face during a pandemic.
SPbGASU presented a video report on the university’s achievements in training highly qualified personnel for the construction industry.
SPbGASU students study Information Technology, Computer Graphics and Building information Modeling. The Department of Computer Science is at the forefront of the university’s scientific research. At the beginning of the year, jointly with LAB University of Applied Sciences (Finland), SPbGASU launched the new project “BIM-ICE” (BIM Integration in Higher and Continuing Education), implemented within the scope of the South-East Finland – Russia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020. The project is funded by the European Union, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Finland.
✔ A unique annual event taking place within the walls of SPbGASU is the BIM Championship, attended by students from many universities. In the course of the BIM Championship, student teams work on various projects, which are further evaluated by a panel of experts including teachers, industry professionals and heads of construction organizations. In addition to providing future specialists with useful experience, the Championship also gives an opportunity for the winners to get internships in large construction companies.
“The university activities are aimed at the implementation of tasks determined by Russia’s national projects and federal programmes. Participation in VUZPROMEXPO-2020 is a landmark event that contributes to increasing the efficiency of our work”, believes Evgeny Rybnov, Rector of SPbGASU.
