From September 27 to October 3, 2018 a group of SPbGASU students majoring in Unique Constructions Engineering went to see the unique buildings to Singapore and Shanghai, China, supervised by the Professors Osokin and Kondratieva and Associate Professor Lanko from the Department of Geotechnics.
The group climbed up to 200 meters high Marina Bay Sands Luxury Hotel with three 55 meters high towers topped with Sky Park, an infinity swimming pool and a viewing platform. They watched new buildings at the Singapore River; visited the symbol of Singapore Merlion – a mythical creature with fish body and lion head; observed 280 meters long DNA-shaped Helix Bridge; saw world highest waterfall in Cloud Forest.
The students went up to 632 meters high Shanghai Tower in 55 seconds on a speed lift. The tower stands on 950 piles and has two underground floors with a parking space for 1800 automobiles. They examined an important airline hub Hongqiao, China, including railroad, underground and a speedway; went along one of the main China bridges Nanpu (846 meters long). They also saw the symbol of Shanghai – Sky SOHO office by Zaha Hadid.
