The tournament was organized by the St Petersburg State University of Economics and the Russian State Hydrometeorological University as part of the events dedicated to the Day of Russian Science. Students from twenty universities competed for the title of winner.
“The tournament participants developed a set of measures to prevent climate change on the planet. To solve global climate and energy problems, our team proposed to stimulate the development of renewable energy, limit coal mining, increase the energy efficiency of transport, buildings and industry, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The proposed measures will help reduce the temperature on Earth by more than two percent. The students presented the constructed simulation model of the development of events to understand the causal relationship of climate change with the necessary calculations to the jury and meaningfully answered all the questions,” Anna Shamsutdinova said.
According to the students, this game expanded their horizons, allowed them to take part in solving global problems, made it possible to compare the level of their training with teams from other universities. They took part in such a tournament for the first time, but fortunately the jury highly appreciated the results of their work.
