In the "Science in a foreign language" section Arina Parshentseva took first place, and Anastasia Aleksandrova became second in the nomination "Participants of the festival from Russian universities".
The festival was held in full-time and remote formats on 18–19 October 2022 at the Nizhny Novgorod State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. Anastasia Aleksandrova and Arina Parshentseva participated in the "Science in a foreign language" section with reports on construction and architecture. Natalia Shapurova took part in the same section in a remote format, highlighting the issues of building panel houses on permafrost soils.
“We were glad to feel like a part of the scientific community. This is very motivating and develops the student as a researcher and future expert. We express our deep gratitude to the first vice-rector Svetlana Gennadyevna Golovina and vice-rector for research Evgeny Valeryevich Korolev for the opportunity and support for our participation in the festival,” said Arina Parshentseva.
The students' training was supervised by the senior teacher at the department of intercultural communication Yulia Tsapaeva. As Elena Aleshugina, head of the NNGASU department of foreign languages, noted, the participants not only exchanged theoretical and practical knowledge, discussed the problems of global construction projects using the example of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, highlighted forgotten practices from the field of restoration and reconstruction, but also demonstrated a high level of English proficiency.
The Science Festival is a launching pad for the development of scientific projects of young scientists, schoolchildren, students and undergraduates. The best works are traditionally awarded with diplomas and prizes, and their authors find project curators from among the leading scientists of their universities. In addition, this is an opportunity for the development of interuniversity cooperation.
