SPbGASU students reported on their summer practical training
The traditional summing up of the summer practical training of SPbGASU students took place in the office of the Association of Builders of St. Petersburg, where university teachers and students, representatives of construction organizations, colleges, and students of the construction class of the Petrogradsky district school № 87 were invited.
The practical training was organized with active participation of the specialized Department of Management in Construction, which has tens of agreements with organizations of St. Petersburg ready to accept trainees from SPbGASU. For students, the practical training is self-examination on professional suitability, the possibility of practical application of the theoretical knowledge obtained at the university, familiarization with a construction company and its team. For the organizations, this is a chance to choose future capable specialists.

“We want to have today an interesting, open conversation about how the practical training has been going,” Boris Lysich, head of the specialized department, said opening the meeting.
“Our profession is essential and vital. I want to wish you success in your studies; we expect new creative people, highly qualified specialists to come to our organizations,” emphasized Alexei Belousov, vice president of the Association of Builders of St. Petersburg.

In their reports, students talked about the skills acquired during the practical training, essential for their further professional activity, which reinforced the theoretical basis obtained at the university. Employers gave feedback about each trainee, noting those who had distinguished themselves, and most of the students were of that kind. The parties shared their opinions and asked questions.
Anna Vlasova, a fourth-year student at the SPbGASU Faculty of Economics and Management, had her internship at the SPb-Special Project design organization: “I was hired as a specialist at the department of design release. My tasks included editing documents, preparing them for the release and releasing; working with drawings in AutoCAD and printing. I studied the work and structure of the organization, learned how to quickly find common language with employees. In addition, I mastered the process of creating drawings and the composition of reporting documentation. After completing the practical training, I was offered a job at the organization. Thanks for the experience and kind attitude!”
In their turn, employers noted A. Vlasova’s professional approach to the matters and that the experience was quite useful for them as well.
Angelina Astanina, a fourth-year student at the SPbGASU Faculty of Economics and Management, completed her practical training at Gazpromneft Terminal, a subsidiary of PAO Gazpromneft. The student worked in two departments in parallel: estimation and design. The company representative noted that A. Astanina successfully coped with her duties, which were quite extensive, and expressed the hope to see her as a company’s employee.

In addition, employees of SPbGASU were also awarded: Irina R. Lugovskaya, SPbGASU Vice-Rector for External Relations and Aleksandr A. Petrov, Head of the Department of Management in Construction, and Aleksandra Nikolaevna Prikhodko, Associate Professor of the Department of Management in Construction, were awarded the badges of honor of the SRO A Association of Builders of St. Petersburg for their contribution to improving the quality of education and personnel policy.
The Association plans to increase the number of companies accepting students of all areas of studies for practical training. In addition, the Association plans to actively participate in shaping the topics of final qualification works of students, taking into account recommendations of production organizations.
