SPbGASU students take part in the international development competition IREC-2022
On January 10, the international competition IREC-2022 (International Real Estate Challenge) for young architects, urban planners, developers and managers in the field of real estate management started. Due to the pandemic, this year's competition is being held in a mixed format.
The "Saint-Petersburg" team visited SPbGASU. From left to right: Cihan Odabashi, Burchin Torun, Professor Orhan Ercan (University of Ankara, Turkey), Alina Allipova (IzhSTU, Russia), Begum Kaili,
Mohammed Said Yilmaz, Neslihan Tekin (Ankara University)
From January 10 to 13, the first stage of the competition took place, where students from Italy, Turkey, Russia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Finland, Spain and the USA were divided into teams named after the cities where they had to work. The team lists were mixed - each of them included representatives of different countries. According to the terms of the competition, participants could not work in their own city.
The students received a task, presented the cities participating in the competition in terms of investment attractiveness and business development prospects for foreign developers, and listened to lectures on related topics.
On January 13, the second stage started. Each team went to a designated city to complete the task, study the situation and visit the facilities, the concepts of use of which will be presented to the jury in the final.
SPbGASU students Polina Tonkikh, Arina Parshentseva, Anna Kondratieva, Ilya Krachkovsky and Daniil Vasilyev went to Istanbul and Moscow. In Istanbul, the contestants were welcomed by the mayor of the city, Ekrem Imamoglu.{gallery name="ИРЕК"}

In turn, the "Saint-Petersburg" team visited our university. In addition, the object of her work was the new closed public space SENO, created in the area of Sennaya Square.
The next stage of IREC-2022 will be the final one. Together with Andrey Surovenkov, a tutor from the university, acting Head of the SPbGASU Department of Architectural Design, SPbGASU students will pass this stage in person in Ankara, the capital of Turkey. As part of their team, they will prepare a presentation of the concept and present it to the jury on January 21, which will include representatives of Colliers, T.I.M.E. (Top International Managers in Engineering) and Antirion (Società di Gestione del Risparmio) companies.
The most important result of participation in IREC is the experience of working in international teams, as well as interacting with experts from different countries.
We wish our students good luck at the final stage and new victories!
