SPbGASU students win environmental Olympiads

Two third-year students of the SPbGASU’s Faculty of Automobile and Road Building majoring in Technosphere Safety have won environmental online Olympiads: Elena Vystavkina is the winner of the All-Russian Olympiad "Organisms and Habitats", while Oksana Zinovyeva received the highest scores and a first-degree diploma at the Olympiad "Ecology as a Science". The winning students were supervised by Aleksandr Glukhanov, Associate Professor at the Department of Technosphere Safety.
✔ The Olympiads are organized by the KOT.RU educational web resource and are held from 20 September 2021 to 10 June 2022 in an online format.
"I participated in the Olympiad to test my knowledge of ecology. The test included 20 questions on various topics. I would like to participate in similar events in the future. Ecology and environmental issues are closely related to my future specialization", told Elena Vystavkina.
"It was our teacher Aleksandr Glukhanov who suggested participating in the Olympiad and who motivates us to be active in extracurricular activities. Knowledge of ecology is an integral part of my future profession. As a rule, an occupational safety and health engineer also acts as an environmental officer. In addition, graduates of the Technosphere Safety Department can work as ecology specialists," said Oksana Zinovyeva.

"The role of Olympiads is to develop knowledge and skills acquired by students while studying general professional disciplines. Subject Olympiads are an important component of the training process at the Department of Technosphere Safety, they help to identify the most capable students, as well as encourage in-depth study of the discipline, prepare for future professional activities and form an active life position. Preparation and conducting such Olympiads fulfil the most important function of professional development and socialisation," says Aleksandr Glukhanov.
Inspired by the example of Elena Vystavkina and Oksana Zinovyeva, eight more students from their group decided to take part in various competitions as well. We wish them success!
