SPbGASU Students won prizes at the All-Russian Olympiad in "Construction"

On April 13–16, fourth-year undergraduate students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering took part in the International Student Olympiad in “Industrial and Civil Engineering” (field 08.03.01 Construction) organized by the Association of Construction Universities. The final of the Olympiad was held in person at the Voronezh State Technical University. Students from more than twenty specialized universities took part in the competition.

The SPbGASU team led by Mkrtich Tonakanyan, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Construction Technology, included Daria Krishtopa, Anastasia Frolova and Alina Reznikova.

The participants had to develop a conceptual design for an industrial building. A prerequisite was the use of modern technologies for both construction and operation. Daria Kryshtopa became the first in the nomination "Construction Technology". Alina Reznikova took the first place, and Anastasia Frolova took the third place in the nomination "Construction management".

✔ As Daria Kryshtopa said, the Olympiad allowed summarizing and refreshing term papers, introduced her to new people, teamed the participants up. The student plans to prepare for admission to the master's degree.

✔ Alina Reznikova gained new acquaintances and impressions from the Olympiad. According to her, the participants faced a very difficult task, which was to develop six sections in four hours. It was fundamentally important for the student to show a good result in "Construction management", since she is writing a diploma at the department of the same name.

✔ Anastasia Frolova considers it useful that in order to participate it was necessary to repeat the material of the last two years. Prize-winning places showed that the years of lectures and term papers were not in vain.
