On 7th December, 2016 rewarding winners of the     city competition on the best organization of student's self-management in hostels of high schools of St.-Petersburg took place in SPSUE. Organizers of the Competition were the Committee on the youth policy and interaction with public organizations and the Student council of St.-Petersburg. According to the results of all tests SPSUACE entered into ten best universities.

The competition main objective was to define hostels where comfortable conditions for students are created, the social infrastructure is organized and bodies of student's self-management function effectively.

The competition had three stages. Monitoring of 169 student's hostels of the city was the first stage; at the second stage a commission of experts internally estimated 22 hostels which passed the first stage, also there was held students’ survey. The third stage was testing representatives of the bodies of student's self-management during which theoretical knowledge regarding standard-legal regulation of granting hostels, practical skills, experience and the competence in the decision of  problems  in hostels was checked.
