On 15th February, 2017 a professor of the Chair of Chemistry of SPSUACE, D.Sc. in engineering Vsevolod Vladimirovich Inchik presented a collection of Petersburg wall ceramics to the St.-Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering.
The collection was formed throughout several decades. The bricks found by Vsevolod Vladimirovich on ruins of houses at the time of Leningrad Siege became the first exhibits. Enthusiastically, V.V. Inchik conducted active work on inspection of historical buildings in the city and its vicinities. The Museum of history of Petersburg brick created in 1991 became a result of this work.
For today the Museum collection includes more than 400 samples of Petersburg wall ceramics which was produced from the beginning of St.- Petersburg foundation and till the end of the XIX-th century. A great number of those who wish to visit the Museum shows how big the interest to the unique collection is. Among them there are not only experts of building branch, but also fans of history, regional specialists, schoolboys.
After signing a contract V.V. Inchik handed over a new monography «Brick finery of Nevsky prospect» to the rector of SPSUACE E.I.Rybnov.
The St.-Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering expresses gratitude to Vsevolod Vladimirovich Inchik for the gift collection, and wishes him good health and the further success.
