Student Conference and KNAUF Day at SPbGASU
On April 3, 2019, all-Russian conference ‘Current Issues of Modern Construction’ for students and young scientists started at SPbGASU. As part of the conference everyone interested visited KNAUF Day at SPbGASU.

900 reports will be presented at 40 conference sections
The participants have prepared the reports on innovative and fast-growing directions in construction. Envgenia Ignatova, student of the Department of Architectural and Urban-Planning Heritage, told about historical reasons of church reconstruction, getting an idea of their original appearance and necessity of their reproduction. The Department academic staff recommended her to think of organizing an exhibition on church graphic reconstruction and developing recommendations for Saint Petersburg Committee for the state preservation of historical and cultural monuments.
The section of the Department of Construction Physics and Chemistry was devoted to 3D printing. The Department students Polina Kovaleva and Igor Loginov told about construction 3D printed products strength, possibilities and restrictions for the technology. Igor Loginov: ‘Construction 3D printing has expanded far beyond theory and science. It is twice economical than building and installation works, in two and a half times economical in material usage, in five times – in workload’.
KNAUF Day at SPbGASU
The conference included KNAUF Day which consisted of interactive exhibition, contests, demonstrations and experiments. Everyone interested could test KNAUF products and learn anything about it. The most active participants of the exhibition were awarded with prizes.

Students and experts do their research at ‘KNAUF Severo-Zapad’ Study Centre based at SPbGASU. The Centre gives methodological advice for classes, organizes workshops, summer schools together with the University, helps students get ready for construction brigade works. KNAUF also modernized a classroom for the University in 2012 and established its joint department in 2015.
Aleksey Loban, Head of KNAUF Severo-Zapad: ‘Our company is considerably interested in cooperation with SPbGASU, because we need young engineers and builders who are familiar with modern technologies’.
