On May 31, 2015 next to Naryshkin bastion of Peter and Paul’s fortress there was ceremonially opened the summer working season of students. Representatives of over 50 various student groups took part in the opening ceremony.
Students were welcomed by representatives of the City headquarter of student groups and Committee for youth policy and interaction with social organizations. There were granted certificates on completion of programmes in preparation to the working season. There took place a march of flags of student groups and students sang to guitars.
Later candidates could take part in the competition “Live the student group life – 2015” which was organized by the Headquarter of student groups of SPSUACE. This game, which was held for the fourth time, is aimed at making newcomers familiar with the life of a student group, their work during summer, kinds of events held during the year, types of student groups and their summer activity. Participants were divided into three teams and were given tasks. Headed by a leader students went for a walk about the city, the final point being the park of the 300th anniversary of Saint Petersburg. After the game was over and all students were full of bright impressions, representatives of pedagogic groups prepared a flash-mob.
This day became a remarkable day for the students, as it was full of joy, happiness and positive energy. Each student group will spend a summer rich of adventures and emotions. But this summer will be spent not alone, but together with other people who will help, support, and share joy and grief. Nobody is alone, and the summer will be full of bright colors and sunshine.
This summer Saint Petersburg will send over 1,5 thousand of students to engineering, pedagogic, archeological, environmental, medical and transport groups. The students have almost finished lectures in preparation to working season; have undergone final introductions in safety and first medical aid. Some student groups have already started working in summer camps and sites in Russia. The summer season of 2015 has started!
