Student Scientific Society held a marathon for writing scientific articles
From February 17 to March 14, St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering hosted a marathon "How to write a scientific article", organized by the Student Scientific Society (SSS) of the university.
Timur Ablyazov
“The method of preparing a scientific article used in the marathon allows you to discard actions that do not bring results. Participants in a short period form material that, as practice shows, is suitable not only for Russian journals of the Higher Attestation Commission, but also for international publications indexed in Scopus and Web of Science,” said Timur Ablyazov, curator of the SSS, Associate Professor of the Department of Construction Economics and Housing and Utility Infrastructure.
The first such marathon took place in the fall of 2021. At that time, more than 100 applications were submitted from students from all faculties of SPbGASU. Following the results of the first marathon, the participants published several articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, including those from the Higher Attestation Commission list. The material of some participants was included in the research work carried out at the departments. Several participants of the marathon became its curators.
The second marathon started in February. More than 130 applications have already been submitted for it, in addition, students from other universities have joined the marathon. For three weeks, online broadcasts were held, during which individual sections of a scientific article and the requirements for them were considered. Students completed assignments and wrote reviews, gaining experience in analyzing the quality of the material and adjusting the scientific style.
According to Timur Ablyazov, the SSS plans to hold the marathon on an ongoing basis twice a year, in spring and autumn, and over time expects to increase the number of active participants to 150 people. Therefore, it is very important to form a team that will develop this project.
✔ The SPbGASU Student Scientific Society is constantly looking for new forms to develop the scientific potential of students. The SSS active team builds horizontal connections between all those who are interested in science.
