On 6, 7 and 8 September, St Petersburg is holding elections for governor, municipal council deputies and a deputy of the Legislative Assembly for constituency No. 18.
Irina Lapina, Head of the Department of History and Philosophy, spoke about the importance of implementing the electoral rights of citizens of the Russian Federation at a series of meetings with students.
During the lectures, students learned how the elections would be held, who could vote, and what was needed for this. Irina Yuryevna emphasized: our ancestors achieved the right to vote at a high price. A constructive dialogue on the topic of elections began between the participants of the meeting.
"I want to vote, my whole family votes. I believe that voting is not so much a right as a duty for every person. Everyone should understand that we are voting for the future. Elections are important, and I am very glad that we have this opportunity," shared a student Aleksandr Taranenko.
"Our country has the most democratic election system. Digitalization is developing, blockchain technology is being introduced. It is wonderful that citizens can vote without leaving home, simply by having access to a phone, computer, and the Internet," says a student Semyon Mogerchuk.
