From 9 April to 28 June, on the initiative of the Etalon Group, the first all-Russian competition of inclusive solutions “Etalon City 2024” was organized with the support of the Sistema charitable foundation, and public and professional associations.
The competition took place in two stages:
- the first stage was the development of a project of inclusive solutions for three proposed nominations: “Best Yard”, “Best Apartment” and “Best Service”;
- the second stage was a competition of finalists (presentation and defense of projects) in Moscow.
The goal of the competition was to develop new approaches to creating a comfortable urban environment and inclusive solutions for urban space.
The finalists of the competition included Olga Kalmykova, a fourth-year student of the SPbGASU Department of Technosphere Safety, who, under the guidance of Associate Professor at the Department Olga Gorbunova, prepared a project of inclusive solutions in the “Best Yard” nomination.
Olga presented a project aimed at improving the accessibility of the urban environment for people with limited mobility using various approaches that ensure safety and information for people with disabilities.
After the jury’s assessment, Olga Kalmykova’s project reached the finals and, after a successful defense, was declared the winner in the “Best Yard” category.
