Ekaterina Zhelnina, a fourth-year student at the SPbGASU Faculty of Forensics and Law in Construction and Transport, took part in the VIII Student Work Competition for the development of information materials “Business has the right.” The student was awarded a diploma from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of St Petersburg for the relevance and practical significance of the project topic for the entrepreneurial community of the Northern capital.
The winners and participants of the competition were awarded on 30 November at the conference of the same name, dedicated to current problems of doing business. Ekaterina received prizes from the Union of Small Enterprises of St Petersburg and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of St Petersburg, as well as a personal invitation to undergo practice from the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs of St Petersburg.
The topic of Ekaterina’s work is “Analysis of risks when carrying out business activities in the agricultural sector during the period of state control and supervisory measures as a way to reduce the possible burden on business”.
“In my work, I point out such a negative result of state control and supervisory measures as the possible seizure of a land plot, and therefore the loss by farmers of the main resource for conducting agricultural activities. In order for entrepreneurs in this area to protect their rights and legitimate interests, as well as continue to develop their business, I proposed various measures to prevent possible violations, the presence of which would contribute to the seizure of land. An algorithm for farmers’ actions has also been proposed after detection of offenses committed during supervision in order to prevent the continuation of the mechanism for confiscating land plots,” said the student.
The competition “Business has the right” is held in St Petersburg annually. It is organized by the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs in St Petersburg. The purpose of the competition is to increase students’ interest in studying current issues of protecting the rights and legitimate interests of entrepreneurs, the role of entrepreneurship in the socio-economic development of the city, as well as the relationship between entrepreneurs and government authorities.
