On 19th February, 2018 an on- line course in English «Processing liquid household wastes» started. Six students of III and IV course of the St.-Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering, and also a senior teacher of the Department of Water Use and Ecology Y,V.Stolbihin became listeners of the course..
The course is run by Tomsk state architecture-building university on a platform for electronic training Moodle.
The group of 33 participants consists of 25 senior students of bachelor and master degree and 8 employees of the departments of water supply and water removal from 10 state universities of Russia.
The question of processing liquid household wastes - one of the most important for health of the population, it is actual not only for the countries of Africa, Asia and Latin America, but also for Russia. To decide a problem of shortage of profile knowledge and experts in this area, leading scientists from Institute of Delft for training in the field of water resources together with partners in 2015 developed an on-line course «Processing liquid household wastes» (Faecal Sludge Management) which became the first in this area. Means for working out the course have been allocated by Bill and Melindy Gates's Fund for the purpose of promotion of this important knowledge worldwide. At present the course is being studied at 11 universities from 9 countries of the world which form the World association of electronic training in the field of processing liquid household wastes (Global Faecal Sludge Management e-Learning Alliance).
Studying lasts 4 months, all participants will receive certificates at the end of the course and can enter into the international association of online course graduates.
