From 29 January to 2 February, students of the SPbGASU Department of Information Systems and Technologies Dmitry Melnichenko, Valery Kurtygin (both fourth-year students) and Lev Vilboa (third-year student) visited Innopolis University in the Republic of Tatarstan to take part in the winter school for bachelors. The students received the personalized certificates for participation in the winter school based on the successful results of participation in the IT hackathon INNOGLOBALHACK in September-October 2023.
The winter school provided a program that included lectures, master classes, seminars and practical exercises in various areas of knowledge in the field of information technology - from programming to artificial intelligence. Participants had the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice by working on projects in small groups.
The SPbGASU representatives chose the “Robotics” direction. They learned to program manipulators and transfer the written code into a programmable device. The result of their work was a program that controls the robot in the simulation and firmware code for the manipulator.
- In their free time, the guys visited a local robotics laboratory. During the visit, they received advice from specialists on their final qualification works, and also learned about the developments of one of the strongest university robotics laboratories in the country. The students were told about priority Russian developments in the field of robotics, which programming languages are most relevant for creating software for various modules and systems of robots, and also examined in more detail the control system for a production manipulator using glove controllers and a Wi-Fi module installed in a raspberry mini-computer.
In addition to educational events, students of our university visited local attractions and got acquainted with the culture and history of the city of Innopolis. These experiences were an important addition to the training and raised awareness of the participants.
A trip to Innopolis to participate in the winter bachelor's school was a highlight for students, contributing to their professional and personal growth. The event allowed not only to gain new knowledge and skills, but also to exchange experiences with colleagues.
