On 30 June, SPbGASU students visited the construction site of the “Live! In Rybatsky" quarter, being built in St Petersburg by the Samolet group of companies. The tour was organized as part of an introductory practice for second-year students of the Faculty of Economics and Management (field of study "Management").

The head of the project "Live! In Rybatsky" Denis Alekseev and the manager of the Sales Directorate of Samolet Group of Companies Igor Kurish, showed students the houses under construction of the fifth stage, the buildings of a comprehensive school and a kindergarten, and a swimming pool nearby.

The students got acquainted with the welding and finishing works in progress, the laying of engineering networks, learned more about the functionality of employees at the facilities. Representatives of the company spoke about the practical skills that need improving for a successful career in this field.

“By organizing such excursions, we give future specialists the opportunity to learn all the specifics of work directly at construction sites. Through the excursion, we build a direct productive dialogue with students, which allows us to understand the level of their knowledge, the desired achievements in their professional activities and tell about the opportunities that our company opens up for young professionals. Promising graduates are accepted first for internship and then for work. The company's immediate plans include holding similar excursions to our other facilities,” said Yana Grozovskaya, Director for External Relations of the Samolet Group of Companies.

Associate Professor at the SPbGASU Department of Management in Construction Aleksandra Prikhodko considers such cooperation necessary and effective. “The tour clearly showed the interest of students in obtaining practical skills, and the Samolet group in providing them with such an opportunity and in joint training of young specialists,” she emphasized.

Student Andrey Ivanov noted: “I took a different look at the courses I studied. For example, as part of the term paper "Construction management", we created a master plan, and today we saw how this happens in practice: we were told about the entire cycle of organizing the work process from the point of view of management.

Student Kristina Mukhina is sure that during the excursion she managed to “feel” her future profession better. “In lectures, we mostly study theory, but today we touched on practice. After it, the image of activity gets clearer, you start better understand your own perspectives in it. The tour was as informative as possible: we were at the construction site for the first time, and I've got many impressions - there is so much to learn here. The time will come when we will manage all these processes, and for this we need to become good specialists,” she is sure.
