
Third-year students of the SPbGASU Faculty of Civil Engineering have completed a week-long work placement internship at the Kizhi Museum-Reserve. During this time, they measured and drew up drawings of the main components of the barn and two manor porches.

As part of the internship, the head of the department for the study and museum presentation of folklore heritage Natalia Mikhailova, the head of the sector of traditional economy Oleg Skobelev and the leading specialist in ensuring the safety of cultural heritage objects and the integrity of the historical and architectural complex of the Kizhi Museum Aleksandr Lyubimtsev conducted classes for students "Youth talk in Zaonezhye ”, “Epics and tales of Obonezhye”, “Traditional carpentry tools”, “Restoration of the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord”. The students also attended master classes on making the Bird-Joy amulet, a peasant belt, blacksmithing and watercolor painting.
As part of the summer university, according to the method of immersion into culture, they visited the excursions “Masterpieces of the Kizhi Island”, “Secrets of the Northern carpenters”, “In the house of the Karelian peasant Yakovlev”, “From the Zaonezhskaya village to the Pudozhskaya”, “Hidden Kizhi”, “Restoration of the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord ”, “Legends of the Narina Mountain”, “Zaonezhskaya village Vasilyevo”.
The internship supervisor, Deputy Dean of the SPbGASU Faculty of Civil Engineering for career guidance counceling Stefania Mironova emphasized that Kizhi was not chosen by chance: here students can engage not only in directly consolidating theory with practice, but also get to know traditional culture and architecture better.
