On 6 April, 2023, by decision of the Council for Professional Qualifications in the Automotive Industry, the Examination Center based at SPbGASU received the official status of an Examination site for conducting a professional exam.
On 26 and 27 June, the SPbGASU Examination Center together with the SPbGASU partner - the Qualifications Assessment Center "Avtoprom North-West Union" - organized a professional exam for a group of initiative graduate students of the bachelor's program "Operation of transport and technological machines and complexes" for compliance with the qualification "Master of the repair area for the maintenance, repair of motor vehicles and their components (6th level of qualification)".
The theoretical part took place on 26 June, which involved testing on a pool of specialized questions prepared by employers. On 27 June, the practical part was held at the training car service center at the SPbGASU educational site in Krasnoye Selo, during which applicants assessed the quality of maintenance and repair work performed by performing control checks on a real car.
The performed tasks were assessed by independent experts from the "Avtoprom North-West Union" and the federal franchise network of car service enterprises "EuroAuto".
According to the results of the professional exam, four graduates who have fully met all the requirements will receive the appropriate certificates, which will give them advantages in employment.
“Independent assessment of qualifications is a good experience both for graduates and for the graduating department. Most importantly, it allows you to adjust the educational program, taking into account the real requirements of employers. The guys who passed the professional exam were able to better understand what competencies are expected of them when applying for a job, and the department - what aspects of the educational program need strengthening. Next year, this project is planned to be continued, perhaps already as part of the intermediate certification, ”commented Igor Chernyaev, head of the SPbGASU Department of Transport Maintenance.
