13 September was the Youth Day, the main youth event in the field of labor protection, aimed at creating conditions for the development of the intellectual, creative and personal potential of young specialists, popularizing activities to ensure labor safety and forming the basis for the development of a safety culture at enterprises. For more than 700 participants from 62 educational institutions and young specialists of industry companies from all over the country, 28 events of business and educational and entertainment programs were held.
One of the key events of the Youth Day was the final of the case championship "Formation of a safety culture: trends and innovations", held by the National Association of Labor Protection (NAOT) among students. The case championship consisted of two stages: a correspondence selection stage, which started in August, and the in-person final. A team of students majoring in "Technosphere Safety" was formed to participate in the championship. The team, called Safety Squad, included Angelina Koroleva, Elena Abashina and Nikita Smirnov, who competed under the guidance of Nadezhda Subbotina, a senior lecturer at the SPbGASU Department of Technosphere Safety. At the selection stage, students solved the AOSW case, sending a presentation and an explanatory note to the competition committee. Only seven teams that scored the highest number of points based on the results of the selection stage were invited to participate in the in-person stage. Following the results of the in-person final, the SPbGASU Safety Squad team took an honorable second place.
As part of the innovative educational project "Modern educational technologies for ensuring labor safety in the construction industry" (2022-2026), the SPbGASU team presented its presentation on the topic "Formation of a labor safety culture: trends and innovations".
The jury appreciated the students' proposals for improving the safety culture in the workplaces of employers in our country. One of the proposals was to conduct interactive training at the SPbGASU innovative "Smart Labor" training site.
