Two student teams from SPbGASU took part in the TIM Championship, which took place on 16–17 October in Perm. One of the teams won third place.
The competition was held at the Perm Construction College. The organizer was Kairos Engineering LLC with the support of the National Association of Organizations in the Sphere of Information Modeling Technologies (NOTIM), the Ministry of Construction of the Perm Region, Perm Construction College, and Perm National Research Polytechnic University. Nine teams competed, representing SPbGASU, Perm Construction College, Perm National Research Polytechnic University, and Perm State Agrarian and Technological University.
The bronze-winning team included fourth-year bachelor's student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Zlata Zolotykh (curator), fourth-year bachelor's student of the Faculty of Architecture Sergey Voronin (architect), and third-year specialist's student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Stepan Kezin (designer).
The second team consisted of senior lecturer at the Department of Informatics Aleksandr Ivanov (curator), fourth-year bachelor's student of the Faculty of Architecture Maria Gubina (architect), and fourth-year bachelor's student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Anton Bukhvalov (designer).
Zlata Zolotykh spoke about her participation in the TIM Championship: "The trip was very eventful and interesting. We spent two days on the territory of the Perm Construction College, where we created a project of a new building. The main focus was on the architecture of the new building and its economic calculation, since it was important to take into account the timing of the demolition of the old building and the construction of a new one. We are very glad that with the help of our project we were able to bring a new vision of the building and share new ideas, leaving a piece of St Petersburg there."
"The preparation of students for participation in the TIM Championship in Perm was managed by the SPbGASU Educational Center for Digital Competency (ECDC). In the shortest possible time, teams of students were formed and curators were appointed, while negotiations with the organizers of the event were underway. We received tremendous support from Kairos Engineering in the person of BIM manager Leonid Shelkovnikov. Personally, I was not able to go with the guys, but we found out how they were doing remotely, rooted for their victory. We are happy with their participation and, especially, with the prize place of one of the teams. The jury especially highlighted our architectural solutions. I would like to separately note the solidarity of the guys and their great desire to participate. Of course, victories are important, but the experience that students gain in the process of preparing for and participating in such events is priceless," said Olga Svetlova, leading specialist of the ECDC, senior lecturer at the Department of Informatics.
