Yesterday was the final day of our summer school “Urban Planning: Architectural Design from Sketch to 3D Model». We are delighted to share with you the students’ final presentations with the summer school sketches portfolio and design projects on renovation of the public spaces.
Giulia Gamba from University of Beregamo (Italy) developed the project on the former mill located in the “grey belt” of the city on the corner of the Obvodny Canal Embankment and Obykhovskoy Oborony Avenue. She suggested to use this territory for allocating commercial and residential buildings of different pricecategories, the open-air recreation areas and green zones, the hotel and museum of bread (which is explained by the location historical identity). The student worked out the scenario of the transport traffic and pedestrian flow on the territory.

The SPbGASU students Tatiana Grishina and Ksenia Telenkova worked on the renovation development concept of the Gutuyev Island. The students analyzed the benefits and drawbacks of the spot, identified its potential and present the design solution incorporating a school, residential buildings, coworking spaces, a media library, a cafe, administrative buildings, a cultural center, a swimming pool, a gym and a research institute. All of these ideas are also oriented to saving the place spirit: the old buildings, including the campus of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping, the natural landscape and the port lighthouse.

The SPbGASU professor Andrey Vaytens coordinating the project part of the summer school highly evaluated the created design projects. ‘Ksenia and Tatiana are one of the best students of our Faculty of Architecture, Department of Urban Planning, and I am glad that participating in our summer school was beneficial for them. Giulia Gamba worked at the unfamiliar territory of St Petersburg, but during a very short period of time she managed to learn the location landscape and architectural features and suggest fresh creative ideas’, he said.
On Saturday the 3D Models of the selected students’ project will be presented and then printed in the 3D Laboratory at SPbGASU.Follow us to know more more insights!
