The winners of the VI open architectural competition of the Volga Federal District "Archnovation" have been announced. A silver diploma was given to the project by bachelor's degree graduates of the SPbGASU Faculty of Architecture Artem Agekyan and Gleb Agenorov "Revitalization of the territory of the Large SeaPort of St Petersburg" (supervised by associate professors at the Department of Urban Planning Mikhail Vilensky and Ksenia Veretennikova).

The competition was held from January to May, its main theme was the introduction of energy efficiency and ecology principles into everyday life and construction. For young professionals and senior students, the competition has become a platform wh ere they can express themselves, discuss modern "green" standards.

More than 280 works were submitted, about 150 contestants were included in the final shortlist. The winners were determined by the jury.

SPbGASU students designed the territory of the Large Seaport, located in the west of St Petersburg. The 31-kilometer coastline washed by the Neva Bay closes an impressive territory of about 600 hectares.

The authors of the project set out to solve the problem of isolation and inaccessibility of this territory for free visits and for residential development. In their opinion, the development of this site will help create new centers of attraction in the city with various functional content (in the north and west - public and business, in the south - cultural and leisure).

According to Gleb Agenorov, this project is an in-depth study of the problems of the Large Seaport and the prospects for their solution. The project received the Grand Prix in the nomination "Architecture" at the International Review-Competition of Final Qualifying Works of Bachelors, Specialists, Masters within the framework of the XXIII International Forum "New Ideas of New Century", which was held in February in Khabarovsk. The authors intend to continue working on this topic.

“My master's study will reveal the hidden problems of the relationship between the port and the city, determine and form a strategy for the transformation of this territory. Artem will deal with the problems of the cities structure as a co-founder of the architectural bureau,” said Gleb Agenorov.
