The Day of Russian Science Is Celebrated at SPbGASU
February 8 is a holiday of the Russian scientific community. On this day in 1724, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the country's main scientific institution, was founded by order of Emperor Peter the Great. Since then, Russian scientists have made lots of important discoveries that played a great role in the development of human civilization. The proclamation of 2021 by the President of Russia as the Year of Science and Technology became a sign of the state's attention to scientific research.
