"“Lift to the Future" will help you make a choice that is right for you, it will become a starting point for self-development and career,” Elvira Tkachenko, deputy executive secretary of the admissions committee, addressed the students.
“SPbGASU is one of the oldest universities in Russia. In 2022, we celebrated the 190th anniversary of the university, created by the personal decree of Emperor Nicholas I. It is the largest in terms of the number of students, the only scientific and educational center for engineering and construction in the Northwestern Federal District, which implements a wide range of educational programs and scientific research. The accumulated experience and traditions allow us to implement the mission of the university, to participate in the implementation of the national idea of creating a comfortable and safe environment for life,” Sergey Mikhailov, vice-rector for academic work, told the students.
Daria Fedorova, head of the student and alumni employment assistance service, spoke about the university's partners - large construction holdings, architectural studios, executive authorities.
Andrey Zazykin, dean of the faculty of automobile and road building, presented the leaders of career guidance services in schools with gratitude from the university.
The guests of the university got acquainted with the faculties in the speeddating format, when one side sits at separate tables, and the other sequentially moves from one table to another, while 3–7 minutes are allotted for communication). The presentations were made by SPbGASU students.
The master class on programming was held by Aleksey Semenov, head of the department of computer science. Schoolchildren also had other master classes, where they learned a lot of interesting things. So, a fourth-year bachelor's student of the faculty of civil engineering Daria Tsyplakova conducted a master class on virtual reality glasses. As Daria said, when putting on glasses, a model of the building appears. A person could "go" inside, find a gym and "play" with the ball. Gleb Chakkaev, a second-year specialist's student of the faculty of civil engineering, demonstrated how to build the da Vinci bridge. This bridge does not have the usual fastenings: its sections are connected according to the principle of swallow nests.
