The "NO MORE WAR.NET" Contest results
“Of the heroes of bygone days, no names are left sometimes,
Those who took a mortal fight, they became just land and grass.
But the threatening valor of them in the hearts of the living stayed.
And the undying flame bestowed to only us, we forever will keep in the heart".
75 years ago, the most tragic event in the history of our country got to the end. The Great Patriotic War changed the course of world history, the fate of people and the world map. Our people resisted the powerful onslaught of a formidable enemy, Nazi Germany and its allies. But we survived and we won!
On the eve of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Kirpich Center for Student Leisure and Creativity held an online contest “NO MORE WAR.NET”.
Participants could prove themselves in one or several categories:
- The art of rhetoric
- Singing
- Original genre
- Visual art
- Dance
To participate, it was necessary to choose a sphere, then record a video or take a photo of your work (to participate in the nomination “Visual art”), post it on social networks VKontakte with the hashtag #VOINENET_kirpich, register in the Google form and leave a link to the work before May 5.
The winners of the competition are:
Anastasia Efimova, first-year student of the Faculty of Economics and Management: singing (solo performance) (YouTube);
Natalia Morozova, third-year student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering: the art of rhetoric;
Olesya Tokarskaya (former student of the Faculty of Architecture): the art of rhetoric (ВКонтакте);
SPbGASU Choir : singing (YouTube).
We asked the contestants what prompted them to participate, what Victory Day means to them and what feelings they had when working on the competition material.
Anastasia Efimova:
– Victory Day is a holiday with which not only the history of the country is connected, but also the history of each family. Four of my great-grandfathers participated in the Great Patriotic War. Unfortunately, I never saw them alive, but I know about them and about their exploits from the stories of my parents. Victory over fascist Germany is a feat and glory of our people. This holiday brings generations together. Participating in various events dedicated to Victory Day, I pay tribute to the feat of our people in those years.
Natalia Morozova:
– I consider any competition as an opportunity for self-development. In addition, this competition is about the main celebration of the country - the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Victory Day is a holiday that should always be! Our grandfathers and great-grandfathers not just survived: they won. In our hearts will forever remain memory and pride for the fallen and those who returned. Never forget how terrible war is and take care of the world!
Olesya Tokarskaya:
– For me, Victory Day is the brightest holiday. I am proud of the courage and stamina of the senior generations. We must be grateful to them for living in peacetime. I was encouraged to participate in the contest by the poem Wolves by Musa Jalil. The author portrayed the fascists deprived of human feelings, surpassing even predatory animals in their cruelty. Worth thinking about it!
Ilya Vedernikov, a second-year student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, participant in the SPbGASU Choir shared his thoughts:
– Victory Day is a holiday the cost of which we must never forget. Millions of lost lives, millions of broken lives: all this we should, no, we must remember, honor and never repeat the catastrophic mistakes of the past. I hope that the next generation with the same respect and trepidation will pay tributes to such an important day for our country and the whole world - Victory Day.
Lyubov Yerastova, third-year student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, SPbGASU Choir:
– Victory Day is a very special song. Performing it, you get a real sense of pride and patriotism. You understand that this is really a holiday "with tears in his eyes." For me, Victory Day is a very important and memorable date. We must never forget the exploits of our ancestors who sacrificed their lives for us.
Diana Ovcharenko, first-year student of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Municipal Services, SPbGASU Choir:
– On Victory Day, we pay tribute to the memory and respect of our ancestors, who at the cost of their lives defended our peaceful and bright future. I am very glad that all groups have the opportunity to share their work. The competition made it possible to train our skills, do what we love doing at home. During the preparation, we had video chats with other members of the team: it’s a great joy to be together even being at a distance!
Irina Kovalchuk, first-year student of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Municipal Services, member of the SPbGASU Choir:
– The idea of creating a video for the “Victory Day” song is more relevant than ever. Participation in this project was exciting! In the time of isolation, when it is necessary to stay at home and refrain from contacts with people, the best way out for our choral group is to sing at home and then bring the voices together. We successfully coped with this thanks to our choirmaster Olga Kislitskaya and Alexei Semenov, who made this video the way we all see and hear it now. On Victory Day, we remember our great-grandfathers and great-grandmothers, war veterans, its heroes, people, thanks to whom we now live under a peaceful sky. 75 years since the Victory Day, some people began to distort the truth about this war, to replace its significance in our lives. This holiday was created in order to remind us that we need to know and remember the history of our country, be proud of its past and create our own beautiful future with our own hands.
