The PLATFORМ-А project resumes operation in online mode
Student architectural workshops unite their participants, even when huge distances separate them. Since April 20, the PLATFORM-A project aimed at developing creative abilities of students of architectural specialities, has resumed its work online.
Russian architectural online workshop
Students guided by professional architects will work on two assignments. The first is a philosophical statement on the subject of space, distance, quarantine and its impact on architecture in the form of a presentation posted on the project website. The second task is the development of environmental settlements in Montenegro with the possibility of subsequent implementation of the design in practice.

Online tours, lectures and master classes will be organized for the participants in social networks Vkontakte and Instagram.
The history of the project took start three years ago with an exchange workshop between SPbGASU and MARCHI held in the student-to-student format. This format assumes that both the participant and the curator are students, and the invited professional expert evaluates the work done at the project defense.
The PLATFORM-A cooperated with such organizations as the Baltic Project, Union of Architects of St. Petersburg, State Hermitage Museum, Design Institute No. 1, Studio 44 (St. Petersburg) and APEX (Moscow) architectural bureau, the Street Art Museum, etc. Excursions and lectures were held for students; they could meet with representatives of these organizations and show their portfolios.
This year’s project participants underwent careful selection, created their portfolios, motivation letters and completed a creative assignment. It is safe to say that the project brought together the most active and creative!
This year, as part of the project, SPbGASU will work with other St. Petersburg universities: A.L. Stieglitz Art and Industrial Academy, Mining University, I.E. Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, University of Technology and Design.
The project will bring together the efforts of the student architectural communities “Art Nobel” (Rostov-on-Don), “Balcony” (Omsk), workshops of NRU MGSU, “Kvartirnik” (Nizhny Novgorod), Club of Young Architects (Irkutsk), Club of Young Architects (Saratov), Perm Architect, Radius (Moscow), Chelyabinsk Mafia, Archiplace (Magnitogorsk), KRUG (Krasnoyarsk), EcoTusa and PLATFORM-A (St. Petersburg), Wasa (Vladivostok), Workship (Kazan).
The workshop operates as an organized teamwork with an element of competition. During the upcoming workshop, each team will receive a case with a task and solve it under the guidance of a curator, a senior student of undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate studies. Applications are accepted until April 23rd. Start - April 25th!
The schedule is available at project website.
